Dental Final Notes

Hey. In Tokyo with one flight down and two to go (Toyko --> SFO, SFO --> SAC). All the typical "it seems so quick, but also seems so long" feelings now.

Many many stories still to tell, so I'll offer up a few now as I have 2 hours before my flight. Here is a picture of me and Dr. Narang on my last visit with me giving my tooth-iest grin. See why I don't normally smile like that? Anyway, he was great and I'd have no probably going to him again (or refering others) if needed. Very skilled, very nice, spents lots of time with me, perfect English, inexpensive, nice clinic, etc. Here are two of his office assistants...

Anyway, all-in-all, although the dental work did not got at all like I had expected (different clinic, different procedures, etc...) I think I'm very happy with how it turned out. I don't think I'm done with teeth stuff forever like I was hoping I would be, but this was a simpler, cheaper procedure and certainly is much better than where I was. And if/when I need to do something again, I'm sure I'll be ready for another month in Thailand!

Hi! I came across your site when I was looking for info about dentists in Thailand.. how did you come across this one in particular? I had a dentist in Thailand in the past, but I'm not sure if I want to go back to the same one or not...not 100% happy with results. Not sure what procedure you had done, but would you recommend the place you went to? Thanks in advance! (Sorry, looked for a way to send a PM but couldn't see how!) Cheers! ;)

Hi Sarah. This is Erik (haven't posted on here in so long i don't remember how to long in!) I sort of found Dr. Narong by accident actually. I came to Thailand to see a different Dental clinic but wasn't happy with it when i arrived. One of the dentists there actually recommended Dr. Narong to me since he was her teacher at Dental School. I was immediately very happy with him and his clinic. Very experienced, very nice, clean clinic, very friendly, great English (which is more than just a convenience when you are discussing complicated dental options to consider!), etc etc. I'd strongly recommend her though I can really offer just advice on how to find a good dentist in Thailand (beyond him) as my extensive search yield a clinic that i didn't end up liking and the dentist i did like i found essentially by chance...

Thanks so much for your response! Yeah, I've spent a great deal of time researching dentists there. I did so many years ago when I first got work done, and at the time was quite happy with the results I got, but am not so pleased with the way things are years later, so I want to find another dentist. It's so hard to get a real idea of what many of these clinics are actually like, as most of them have fabulous websites and sound great, until you arrive....!
Dr. Narong sounds great, and I like that he has trained internationally as well. I will certainly check him out and his clinic.

Thanks again. Great to hear some feedback!
All the best!
